B Lab Toolkit
Staff engagement
B Lab Benelux
Challenge
Many B Corp companies seek guidance on engaging their staff in their sustainability efforts and the B Corp movement. B Lab Benelux approached us to create a toolkit informed by behavioural science, offering solutions to encourage adherence to B Corps’ social and environmental principles and their B Corp (re)certification process.
Solution
We conducted interviews with B Corps using our Landscape Model™ to identify contextual, social, and individual barriers to staff engagement. This process led to a comprehensive framework, defining B Corp staff engagement through nine tangible factors. Co-creation workshops with B Corps and B Lab, based on our Rainbow Wheel™, resulted in 19 interventions with implementation ideas and real-life examples within B Corps.
Results
The final, systematic, and evidence-based toolkit integrates contextual, social, and individual barriers to B Corp staff engagement, the 9-factor framework, and the 19 behaviour change interventions with corresponding real-life examples.

"Working with Behaven on our Employee Engagement Toolkit enabled us to combine solutions informed by behavioural science with the reality of our certified B Corp companies. This resulted in a clear overview of activities that those businesses can implement at their own pace. I can definitely recommend Behaven as your behavioural science partner!"
