Challenge

With the rise of fast fashion and resale platforms like Vinted, organisations like Oxfam are fighting to keep quality donations coming in while also driving sales of second-hand clothing in order to continue funding social initiatives. As part of the LoopS (circular fashion) initiative, the King Baudouin Foundation commissioned us to design a two-day workshop to help these organisations improve their communications efforts using behavioural science techniques.

Solution

We started the two-day workshop with an introduction to behavioural science principles before guiding participants through the process of identifying contextual, social, and individual barriers to responsible purchase and donations. Participants then collaborated using our Rainbow Wheelâ„¢ to identify behaviour change solutions and how to integrate them into their communication plans and campaigns.

Results

Participants left the workshop with actionable and practical insights and techniques to improve their future communication activities. The response has been so positive that the foundation is considering a second, expanded edition for 2024.

"I expected a primarily theoretical experience, but was pleasantly surprised by the workshop's practical, didactic, and educational approach. The positive atmosphere and camaraderie between presenters and participants were especially noteworthy."
