The Challenge

The RENO+ programme offers residents two ways to renovate their roof: collective projects for economies of scale, or a tailored individual service. Despite strong subsidies and technical guidance, many residents still hesitated, held back by habits, costs and uncertainty. Success depended on uncovering these frictions and finding practical ways to move residents from hesitation to action.

Our Approach

We mapped the full renovation journey to identify where residents got stuck, revealing over 90 behavioural barriers. Working with municipalities, contractors and residents, we co-created practical solutions and assigned clear ownership, so each one could be implemented smoothly and effectively.

The Result

RENO+ now has a step-by-step toolkit of barriers, solutions and practical examples that make renovation easier for residents and increase participation.
